Final Day - Take Me Home Country Road

We're home . . .

1581 miles . . .

We're still friends . . . probably better ones.

Thanks to Grandpa Dell and Grandma Lois for being great support on the ride and for preparing great food . . .

Thanks to Ali and Scott who joined us for the last two days . . .

Thanks to our families for their moral support . . . especially to Carol for allowing me to leave for 25 days.

Thanks to Jesus for keeping us safe on the road for twenty-five days through thunder storms, very cold weather, snow and hail, really fast drivers, and times of "oatmeal for brains".

Thanks to Rhett for riding with us even though he probably could have been home a week ago.

Steve is ready to do another ride as soon as our bicycles are tuned up. Even though I don't have a "real" job, I do have a few things lined up for the next few months and some even pay "real" money. I think Terry might have something to say about this situation as well. By the way Rhett is looking for "real" work. He has a bachelor of science degree. We have lots of pictures and will put some more of them up on the internet soon. For now that's it. Thanks to all of you for following our Epic Adventure and for your prayers . . . until next time.

Day 22-23 Swervin' and Curvin'

Yesterday we made it to Sunnyside where we joined up with Noah, Janae, Alison, Maya, Carol and Scott. We waited for the sky to clear before swervin' and curvin' today but by 11 am the heavens still dripped steadily. The pavement was wet and covered with road grime that flew up on our legs and in our clothing as we road. We stopped at only a few wineries before heading back to Sunnyside for a total of 35 miles. We still had fun with the whole gang and enjoyed a great Mexican dinner in Granger in honor of the new KDNA facilities.

Tomorrow we head into the last two days of the Epic Adventure. It is hard to believe that we've been riding over three weeks and 1400 miles. We look forward to Monday afternoon when we will arrive in Carnation but have 5432 feet to climb up to Chinook Pass first. The team has gained three members for the last leg of the trip. Scott, Ali, and Maya will join us for the last two days. We'll camp at the northeast edge of Mt. Rainier National Park before heading home on Monday.
